Mickey L. Washington

Mickey L. Washington is a native of Port Arthur and Beaumont, Texas. Mr. Washington obtained his Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Minor in Health from Texas A&M University in 1990. He went on to play in the National Football League for 8 years and became the starting cornerback for the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXVIII.

Mr. Washington is a former investment and business development manager. He holds several honors, including Unsung Hero, All American Honorable Mention, Texas A&M Team Captain, First Team All Southwest Conference and Texas A&M All Decade Team. In 2006, Mr. Washington received a congressional certificate in recognition for his work in the advancement of equality.

Driven by the desire to grow and share his talents as an asset and resource to the community, Mr. Washington traded his shoulder pads for a career in law, graduating from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law and then working for the Fort Bend Community District Attorney's Office, the National Football Player's Association, and the law firms of Taylor & Ernster, R. G Taylor & Associates, and Cletus P. Ernster, III PC. During his time with the NFL Players Association he participated in negotiations over the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, building further upon his prior experience as a Union Representative developing free agent contracts for players.

Currently, Mr. Washington is licensed by Texas Supreme Court, the Eastern and Southern District Federal Courts of Texas, as well as being a member of the State Bar College and the National Employment Lawyers Association. Similarly, he is licensed by Mississippi Supreme Court, including the Fifth Circuit.
